Children’s School of Yoga moves home base to Monroe -The Children's School of Yoga has a new home base in Monroe and is hoping to introduce young residents to this ancient form of exercise which has its roots based in Buddhism. Now located on Lake Street, the school opened in January 2004 and now has more than 500 students in more than 30 locations in the Hudson Valley. The Monroe location is more centralized to provide coverage to the nine county area and will house equipment, teach students and train staff.

A local children's yoga teacher was among a coalition of instructors statewide that successfully fought state efforts to license schools that train yoga instructors.
